Hello. I’m a woman who believes that life is about taking risks. Choosing paths for ourselves is often frightening but without risking, you stay where you are.

Hi I’m Marcia Davis

I’m a retired 75 year old woman. I chose not to have or raise children. That decision, which should’ve been an acceptable choice, became a lifetime of questioning by myself, friends, family and strangers. In fact, after being interviewed by “60 Minutes” in 1974, I lost my job as a teacher, a career I had been dedicated and passionate about for more than ten years. I found myself without a job! I learned that people equate not wanting to have children as meaning I hated kids. I’ve finished a memoir, “Confessions of a Childless Woman” where I look back and share what lead me to make that choice and if, looking back, I have any regrets. I have lived and continue to live a wonderfully rich life without raising any children of my own.

This website is designed to support anyone who has ever wondered if parenting is a choice, instinct or societal expectation. On my blog, I invite you to share your thoughts, stories and confessions of any kind. This blog is to open any discussions about the choice to parent or not to parent. I invite you to share your thoughts, stories and confessions of any kind. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for reading. Any and all questions will be answered with respect and honesty. I will also have excerpts from my book to encourage you to read and share it with others. It took me 36 years to have the courage to share my story. I offer my website, blog and book to you with great respect, willingness to reach out and share an important story.
